Default Colts Picks...#30, #62, #94,#162,#199,#207,#238

Selections

#30

Joseph Addai RB LSU

Position: RB
Class: Sr
School: Louisiana State
Conference: Southeastern
Ht., Wt.: 5-11.5, 214
40 Time: 4.41

BIO: LSU.s feature back as a senior after sporadically playing with the first team the prior two years. Rushing totals included 187/911/9 with 20/180/1 receiving. Posted 680 yards on the ground as a junior and career-best receiving numbers of 26/294/4.

POSITIVES: Explosive running back moving up draft boards. Patient runner with outstanding instincts, vision and speed. Makes defenders miss in the open field, deceptively strong and breaks tackles. Keeps his feet moving up the field and in short-yardage situations. Fast enough to beat defenders around the corner. Solid receiver who adjusts to the errant throw and catches the pass with his hands.

NEGATIVES: Runs with an upright style. Marginally productive as a blocker.

ANALYSIS: A high-motor player who does the extras to become better, Addai is slowly developing a complete game. Coming off a terrific senior campaign and solid postseason, he is poised to become a starting ball carrier at the next level.

#62

Tim Jennings DB Georgia

Position: CB
Class: Sr
School: Georgia
Conference: Southeastern
Ht., Wt.: 5-7.5, 183
40 Time: 4.36
Selected by: Indianapolis Colts
Round 2, pick 30 (62 overall)
Grading System

BIO: Three-year starter and All-Conference selection since his junior campaign. Senior totals were 51/4/4 after 37/2/9.

POSITIVES: Explosive yet undersized cover corner with potential as a nickel back. Effective facing the action, displays good awareness and mirrors opponents on the field. Quick-footed in reverse, fluid transitioning to run with receivers and has a closing burst of speed. Disciplined and quick locating the action.

NEGATIVES: Undersized and out-muscled by larger opponents.

ANALYSIS: A fundamentally sound defensive back, size is a limiting factor for Jennings. Could flourish as a nickel back in a zone system.

#94

LB Freddie Keiaho San Diego State

Position: OLB
Class: Sr
School: San Diego State
Conference: Mountain West
Ht., Wt.: 5-11.5, 224
40 Time: 4.58
Selected by: Indianapolis Colts
Round 3, pick 30 (94 overall)
Grading System

BIO: First-team All-Conference selection as a senior after breaking into the starting lineup and leading the team in tackles with 113/11.5/1.

POSITIVES: Explosive linebacker with marginal size/speed numbers. Plays with good pad level, quickly changes direction and takes good angles to the play. Slides off blocks, effective moving to the sidelines and is rarely off his feet. Disciplined, diagnoses plays and stays with the action. Can pedal in reverse and flashes skill in coverage.

NEGATIVES: Not strong at the point and has tackles broken. Cannot stack against the run.

ANALYSIS: A late bloomer who took off as a senior, Keiaho is a one-gap linebacker who could also backup on the inside of a 34 defense.

#162

OT Michael Toudouze TCU

Position: T
Class: Sr
School: TCU
Conference: Conference USA
Ht., Wt.: 6-5.5, 303
40 Time: 5.11
Selected by: Indianapolis Colts
Round 5, pick 29 (162 overall)
Grading System

BIO: Former back-up who moved into the starting unit as a sophomore and promptly was awarded All-Conference honors.

POSITIVES: Developing left tackle with a good degree of upside potential. Patient position blocker who displays good hand punch and flashes a nasty streak. Stays square, keeps his feet moving and plays with good pad level. Quick to the second level and displays skill blocking in motion. Always looking for someone to hit and attacks assignments.

NEGATIVES: Lacks footwork and the ability to slide out off the edge. Marginal run-blocking skill and balance. Tentative and tries to out-guess opponents.

ANALYSIS: A lineman with a large upside, Toudouze is a solid developmental prospect who needs repetition and must physically mature.

#199

OG Charlie Johnson Oklahoma State

Position: OG
Class: Sr
School: Oklahoma State
Conference: Big Twelve
Ht., Wt.: 6-4, 304
40 Time: 5.27

Grading System

BIO: Former All-Conference tight end who moved inside to tackle as a senior.

POSITIVES: Developmental blocker still learning the position. Strong and controls defenders once engaged at the point. Sets with a wide base, flashes footwork and the ability to slide laterally. Effective position blocker.

NEGATIVES: Mechanical, lacks adjustment and does not finish blocks.

ANALYSIS: Coming off a solid first full year as an offensive lineman, Johnson lacks the size to be an NFL tackle but has possibilities at guard.

#207 (Compensatory pick)

S Antoine Bethea Howard

Position: S
Class: Sr
School: Howard
Conference: Mid-Eastern Athletic
Ht., Wt.: 5-11, 203
40 Time: 4.44

Grading System

BIO: First-team All-Conference selection who received All-American mention after totaling 83/5/5. Junior totals included 99/8/3 after a career-high 109 tackles as a sophomore.

POSITIVES: Competitive defensive back best defending the run. Displays a good head for the ball, range in centerfield and speed to the flanks. Fluid flipping his hips, has smooth footwork and a nice burst to the play. Flashes ball skills in zone coverage.

NEGATIVES: Not efficient and takes himself from the action, over-pursuing plays. Late reacting or picking up assignments and offers just marginal skills in man-to-man situations.

ANALYSIS: A productive tackler on the small-school level, Bethea could fit in as a nickel or dime back in a zone system. Must eventually earn his wage on coverage units.

#238

CB TJ Rushing Stanford

Position: CB
Class: Sr
School: Stanford
Conference: Pacific-10
Ht., Wt.: 5-10.5, 175
40 Time: 4.5
Selected by: Indianapolis Colts
Round 7, pick 30 (238 overall)
Grading System

BIO: Moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore and awarded All-Conference honors the past two seasons as a return specialist. Defensive numbers last year included 48/2/4 when he averaged 26.7 yards on 22 kick returns, with two scores. Averaged 28.4 yards on 23 kick returns as a junior, bringing one back 99 yards for a touchdown.

POSITIVES: Explosive track sprinter who translates his speed onto the football field. Quick-closing on the play, stays with opponents out from their breaks or easily runs downfield with receivers. Willing run defender who plays with an aggressive style. Breaks games open returning kicks and runs away from opponents in the open field.

NEGATIVES: Lacks instincts on defense and does not show a good sense of timing. Under-sized and loses out in battles at cornerback.

ANALYSIS: A terrific athlete yet raw football player, Rushing's game-changing skills on special teams are his ticket to the NFL.
