No, spears came a year later. Last year, Jackson ran for 1046 yards on 254 carries. He had 8 TDs and averaged 4.1 yards a carry. He also had 43 catches for another 320 yards, 2 receiving TDs and 7.4 per catch average over 15 games. All this while sharing time with Faulk and playing in a predominatly passing offense. I think he's doing pretty good in only his second year.
If Jones doesn't show up this year, I think I would take Peterson if the opportunity presented itself. He's a gifted a back as I've seen play in a long time. I liked him better the Bush when he was healthy. I see a player like Peterson much the same way I saw OJ Anderson in Parcells ofense with the GMen. I really like Peterson and I'm a Horns fan. You know I hate having to admit that.

It depends...
Whether you trade up for Adrian Peterson or not depends on how good you think he is. If you think he is good you don't trade up. If you think he is great, you spend what it takes to move up and get him, within reason. Since I think he is borderline great, I'd make the move and trade up to get him. He might be the best back to come out of college in 10 plus years if he is healthy.

I would but I do not know at what cost....
I think Petterson when healthy is a better NFL back than Bush..
On top of that I do not think Petterson will be in the top 2 picks next year

Another thought
If you trade up to get Peterson you could probably trade Jones and get some value out of him. That might partially offset what it would take to trade up and get Peterson. I will hazard a guess that the team trading down to allow you to get Peterson is going to want a little bit more than what the value chart says that pick is worth. A lot could happen between now and then though.

It would cost but he's amazing when he's right.

this is a moot point, because it would be impossible to trade up to the top 3 which is where he will be taken. unfortunately those kind of trades only work on Madden.

in a word...
hell no
why? when we already have 3 talented backs? those 2 1sts, and likely a 2nd and 3rd could be better spent elsewhere, such as on Sidney Rice and a Olineman, not to mention the money

right, but we're talking about trading up and spending 2 1sts on one guy, you only do that for premier college QBs IMO, so that rule about RBs being able to be had in the late 1st, 2nd round holds especially true

Well, the premise was that JJ would not show this year. If you consider that, then we don't ahve 3 talented backs. We have one guy who can carry the load but is not a break away threat, one guy who is a break away threat that can't seem to stay on the field and one guy who has some interesting talent but isn't a starting RB.

I don't know that it would take two 1st to move up and get him. Depends on a lot of stuff. You might be able to get it done with a 1st, a second and players. Don't know.

you mean by if he just flat out sucks and BP gives up on him, or you mean he gets injured and misses substantial time?
I'd still say no
Michael Bush is a very talented runner in his own right too, and if noone steps up at RB, we could be in a very good position to draft him in the middle of the 1st w/o giving up anymore picks

if he's as good in the scout's eyes as he is in our's, we'd have to trade up into the top half of the 1st round, which would most likely be a 1st, Cleveland brutalized a team this year, or was it last, just to let them move up one spot in the draft, their trading partner sat right behind them

Yes xInfinity. If he stays healthy, I have little doubt he will come close to if not break Emmitt's yards and TDs record

That is how Dallas got Tony D from Seattle and Dallas traded a lot to make that deal, I'm not suggesting that Dallas go out and get Peterson what I'm saying is in the draft you go after top talent regardless of what position and if you find a RB who you think has a special gift then your a fool to pass on him if you get the chance. Some of these guys come around every blue moon.
