Default My Obs for today's practice - July 30th -

This will be short and sweet, cuz im exhausted...
but anyways,
1. T.O was the last to run onto the field today. Not really that big of a deal, but you can just see it in his eyes, the guy loves the spotlight.

2. I saw Witten and Fasano hanging out a bunch when not in drills. Jason appeared to be going over footwork while blocking with Fasano. From what i saw, when the O was running the 2-TE sets, Fasano seemed to run alot of dump off patterns while Witten patroled the middle of the field. Fasano lined up on T.O's side, while Jason and Terry were on the other. Fasano also was the primary H-back, and was put into motion quite abit.

3. I didn't get to see much of the D-line today, but Hatcher really stands out...he's one big dude. He drew several praises from the coaches during drills, however one particular play Zimmer started screaming at him for doing something wrong. Seemed like they are riding him pretty hard though, the guy has a ton of physical talent.

4. Greg Ellis lined up as a LB nearly the whole practise. He replaced Singleton on multiple occassions during drills. Ellis was spending alot of time speaking with coaches when he was not on the field. Looks like the coaching staff is trying to get him involved as much as possible.

5. Pat Watkins is skinny! The guy is just a giant palm tree out on the field...The good news is though, he's a pretty darn good football player. Was around the ball alot during team drills, and even dropped an INT during 7vs7. Seems like he is going to struggle with man to man coverage because he is a little lanky...but when he was sitting back there in a zone coverage, he covers alot of ground quick.

6. I thought Julius looked great today...broke through holes quick and shed would be tacklers. Looks to be a man on a mission to prove he's #1. Caught every ball thrown to him out of the flats as well.

7. hmmm i think thats it for now, feel free to ask away if you got questions, I will be at camp tomorrow and will bring a notebook to take some notes. Anything you guys want me to pay attention to just let me know. Peace

alot of great observations there

if you don't mind answering, how was Carpenter looking? Kosier? Fabini? Pettiti? Singleton? Burnett? Montavious Stanley? Hannam? Akin Ayodele? basically any of the new guys (FAs, rookies), the players on the line, the FS participants, and players who's season was cut short due to injury last year, if you didn't catch any observations on those, that's cool, they would be the players I want you to look out for tomorrow then, thanks

I'd like to know how the linebackers look. Ayodele in particular, but the whole group as well.

Carpenter looked good to me, was always in the mix of things. Looks like he is just getting used to everything going on. I dunno if it was just me, but i thought Akin looks TINY to be in the middle of the 3-4. But maybe that's because he stands next to Brady, who is just a beast! I was really impressed at Brady's size and power. So other than that, i didnt really pay attention to Akin all that much. I'll check him out tomorrow, as well as the others mentioned.

Hatcher and Canty are two big talented bodies...can't wait to see them develop. Canty (6-7 300) is actually listed a little bigger than Hatcher (6-6 295).

On those combine tapes I was really impressed by Hatchers mobility and motor for a man his size, should be fun to watch him develop.

You mentioned how tiny Ayodele looked beside Bradie James so I checked out Cowboys roster: They list James at 6-2, 250 & Ayodele also at 6-2, 250 but don't know how recent roster was updated so take this for what it's worth.
