Default DMN Mosley Camp Blog: Fabini, Columbo updates; Vandy not practicing

Vanderjagt update

This just in from Matt Mosley...

The Colombo Files

Veteran offensive tackle Jason Fabini might not be long for this team. Bill Parcells pretty much said he was awful in the veterans' minicamp and he's not exactly lighting things up in Oxnard.

Meanwhile, former Chicago Bears offensive tackle Marc Colombo's stock is rising. If anyone's going to challenge Rob Petitti at right tackle, it might be Colombo.

After recovering from knee injuries, Colombo finally had a chance to do some serious work in the off-season. One of the key talent evaluators for this club said Colombo had been a pleasant surprise in camp.

Colombo might be a guy who could back up both tackle positions.

I am quite excited abouty Colombo's potental, along with that of Jamaica Rector, Sam Hurd, and Pat Watkins. And oh, I was very impressed with the photos that everyone presented of themselves a few weeks ago, thanks to the Pat McQuistan photo shot. Much kudos to you...WoodysGirl!

the funny part about Fabini is when we signed him, most of us scratched our heads. at best, we HOPED for something good. so i'm not sure why there's such a shock that he is sucking.

now cloumbo....that is a move that could turn out to be pure parcells genius. we shall see, but all indicators are that we got ourselves quite a steal.

I hope you are kidding. So a guy's sick and now his signing is a mistake? Vandy is a heck of an upgrade over ANYTHING we've had kicker wise in years.

Colombo looks like a beast in some of the training camp pics I've seen. If the Boys won their 1st round gamble with him, or even get a percentage of the old player, I'll be thrilled!

I think we are all pulling for Columbo....We all know we could use some help on the O-line. As for Fabini......im not so surprised, i thought he was a reach all along....but it sure would be nice if he could at least provide some competition for the others

Kicker Mike Vanderjagt is ill and missed this morning's practice.

He just placed himself in Parcells sub-third-world dog house. It better be his leg cause that's all he needs to be kicking.
AS: Cowboys ice their own kicker in 19-13 OT loss

“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.

God help us...............
