rice isnt alone in his opinion though. when tillman joined the army, a bunch of writers said he wasn't a very good football player. and of course no one will say that know. i've got nothing but respect for tillman. i think it was a great thing he did. R.I.P.

Rice can say what he wants, he is entitled to his own opinion, as am I. With that in mind, IMO Rice is lower than a flea on dead goats balls...

Partly true. I.e. Tillman wasn't going to be a Pro-bowler anytime in his Life Probably. But he was a sollid starter at the very least. He was an NFL player and was offered decent contract for a decent Starter money.

Its one thing to disparage his playing skills but another to disparage his motive for doing what he did, IMO. Not that you are saying anything different.
