Doesn't matter. He's gonna make the team whether he's a TB or a FB. And I'm pretty sure he's not starting at FB anyway.
Plus, I always expected him to play some FB throughout the season. He's too good of a player to be just a 3rd down back/3rd string RB.
But he's still "officially" a TB right now.

I agree, Martin is not eligible for the PS I believe....Polite is... That will be the deciding factor at FB.
Be excellent to each other....

Do you go straight down the line and pick 25 on each side of the ball, or do you go a little longer on the offensive or defensive side of teh ball?
I wrote down who I'd keep, but in the end I came to a difficult decision...
QB (3): Testaverde, Henson, Romo
RB (4): George, Jones, Anderson, Lee
FB (1): Martin
TE (3): Campbell, Witten, Ryan
WR (5): Johnson, Glenn, Bryant, Williams, Crayton
LT (2): Adams, Vollers
LG (2): Allen, Peterman
C (3): Johnson, Dinapoli, Walter
RG (2): Gurode, Lehr
RT (2): Rogers, Tucker
That's 27 offensive players.
RE (2): Ellis, Ogbogu
LE (2): Wiley, Coleman
DT (4): Glover, Carson, Stewart, Brooks
[View Full Quote]OLB (4): Coakley, Singleton, James, Shanle (?)
MLB (2): Nguyen, O'Neil
CB (5): Newman, Hunter, Mitchell, Powell, Thornton
FS (2): Williams, Scott
SS (2): Woodson, Dixon
That's 23 defensive players. A total of 50.
But...
We're w/o Woodson for at least two games so we'd be starting the season with only 3 safeties. So we HAVE to keep an extra safety, right? I'd go with Davis. But who do we cut so we can keep him?
With Walter doing well and earning himself some playing time I'd go ahead and cut Dinapoli. But I'm not so sure Parcells wants to do that. But can we really afford to keep 11 offensive lineman? Maybe he's hoping to trade one of them for a safety?
Even if we cut/trade Dinapoli for a safety, that still leave 26 on offense, 23 on defense. I'm thinking he might want to keep a 6th CB. Jacques Reeves perhaps? If so, who do we get rid of now?
We still have 10 OL. Maybe we keep 9 since there's so much versatility there? That's the only position I can think we might remove a player from in order to keep Reeves. But who?
We have to keep Vollers in case Rogers nor Tucker nails down the RT position.
We aren't gonna cut/trade Peterman. Lehr is a posibility here since Walter can play guard and C.
Some were saying they don't want to trade Lee. Well, as of right now he's a 3rd/4th string RB. Next year the best he'll be is a 2nd string RB. If we can trade him for a young safety that could take Woody's spot next year then I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Too many scenarios.... too many tough decisions to make.
I really feel for Parcells. He's got his work cut out for him, that's for sure.

don't forget BP can place some on the practice squad. I believe ROMO is eligible, the only risk is other clubs can claim of of the practice squad. There might be others who fit in this category.

He wasn't effective as a blocker last year. I don't think losing the weight will hurt his blocking too much.

The thing is, his ability to do both opens the door for Lee and will allow us to keep a more one-dimensional FB like Martin.

Ummm... that's why I have both Lee and Martin on the roster.
