Just curious Rack,

Was your new Tahoe made in Arlington or Janesville?

No idea. Tell me the vin code for each and I'll go check..

Speaking of my tahoe... they aren't built NEARLY as good as Ford F-150's. I had my F-150 for almost 3 years and not a single problem. I've had the Tahoe 5 months and the driver's side door handle is already broken, it often makes a loud, annoying sound when I start it, and the back "door" is starting to "hitch" when it opens.

It really makes you appreciate your good vehicles whenever you buy a really crappy one.

Oh, also, whoever engineered the positioning of the front seats needs to have his arms ripped off of him and his face smothered in acid. I'm only 5'11 but there is NO POSSIBLE WAY for me to position the seat where I'm comfortable (upright, good distance from steering wheel and pedals). WHoever designed it had 5'2" soccer moms in mind cuz I feel like a giant in that thing, and it's a freakin' full size SUV. I have no head room whatsoever unless I scoot my butt forward (which when you read the seat belt instructions it tells you NOT to sit like that) even with the seat all the way down as far as it will go. MAJOR MAJOR difference between the design of my F-150 and my Tahoe.

Yeah, obviously I'd not have bought the damn thing if I'd known better. Lesson learned (hopefully).

There should be state sticker along the inner door on the drivers side that tells where it was produced. By the sound of the problems you are having, I'm guessing it was produced in Arlington, Texas. (I hope anyways)

So you consider the Tahoe a really crappy vehicle?

That's too bad because we here at Janesville Assembly really do strive to produce a high quality vehicle. But as you stated, the engineering is something we have to work on, but the assemblers put it all together the best they can. We do often complain about the engineering and GM pays us for suggestions on how to produce a better vehicle. The assembler obviously runs into problems that an engineer never imagined would happen. We try to correct those problems.

I hope your problems are addressed properly and if not, let me know, there might be someone I can talk with to assist you.

BTW - I recently did a comparison on trucks with a Silverado and a Ford F-150. After a spec and drive study on each vehicle, I actually preferred the Ford. The Ford was much quieter and smoother, had better fit and finish on all moving parts, but I found the Chevy more powerful and snappier. The Ford interior is more user friendly, and more comfortable, especially on long trips.

Well the problems with my tahoe are assembly related, it's design related. So it's not your fault unless you designed it.

It's night and day how much better my F-150 was compared to my Tahoe. Mainly referring to the quality of the design. If only I hadn't needed a bigger vehicle.

When did you get rid of the 150? Assuming the Tahoe was for a "family car"?

and $8xx dollars i had to spend to get my truck running again frekain fuel system and on top of the 8xx i spent on the fuel system i spent another 6xx on new tires...cuz...burn outs are fun...
