Default Any Texas Tech fans?

It would be great to pick up a reciever like joel filani in a late round. I think he is a hidden gem. Kinda like a Marques Colston

Dude is very talented. I enjoyed watching him while he was at Tech.

I'm a fan. Filani has the skills to be good in the NFL. I'm not sure about his work ethic, but if it is good then I think he could be very good. What do you think about Hicks? He really messed up his senior year.

I have been a Filani backer for awhile now but lets see how he does in a conventional offense before we get too excited. I think he can play in the NFL but I want to erase any of those "system" doubts that are lingering.

Maybe not a Colston right off the bat but could be a pretty good 2nd option down the line.

Hicks has been tailing off the past two years. Has been too inconsistent. I think Filani has passed him up as far as NFL hopes.

Filani was good, but his offense basically dictated that. If you're a Tech receiver and you play/start every game, you'll get your 1,000 yards. Personally I think Hicks has more utilizable talent in the NFL.

He is not a burner but really has a nose for the endzone. Tough guy with pretty good size.

filani is a great receiver.............rather us get johhnie higgins from utep though.

i was a huge fan of wes welker when he played for tech........having a great career at miami.

i think mike leach is an outstanding offensive mind...kinda of a dry personality though.

anyone notice how he
looks just like vince gill?

Yea I go to Tech right now. I've seen Filani at some practices and on the field for gameday and he gives 100% each and every play. He is always pumped up ready to play and is a BIG receiver. I find him similar to TO but a lil slower.

And trust me....You don't want Jarrett Hicks. He can't even stay outta academic probation or keep from being injured. Horrible work ethic.

Falani was just a raw athlete when he came to Tech, and he turned himself into a great WR. He was actually a bit of a tease when he first came to Tech, because he was such a great athlete but he was just too rough around the edges to contribute. But he worked hard and by his junior year he had the skills to complement the talent.

Hicks thinks he's a lot better than he really is. He's the one who's not really a great athlete. He can't run by anyone, he just has great ball skills and can go get the jump ball. He runs one good route, the corner fade. Think Alvin Harper, two steps slower.

I don't think either one has the speed to make it in the NFL...

Default DMN on Filani:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...i.25a9ab7.html

The former project is now a projected NFL draft pick. NFL.com draft analyst Gil Brandt, the Cowboys' longtime personnel director, said Filani will probably get selected in the fourth round of April's draft.
"He's what everybody's looking for now," said Brandt, who is impressed by Filani's hands and route-running ability. "He's that big receiver. He's a guy that will play in the league."
