Default Most underlooked need(IMO)

DE. Everybody was so quick to point the blame at the secondary this season, but opposing QB's had so much time to throw it was almost impossible for our CB's to even have a chance. Our current DE's are huge and good against the run but create little to no pass rush. We need a guy who can come in and play on passing situations and get after the QB a lot better. Right now Ware is our ONLY guy that can do that. Im excited to see what Carpenter can do after his performance in Seatle but we still need more. A DE who is a constant sack threat would do wonders for the D. I understand that its tough with the 3-4 scheme, but there are options out there.

Opinions on this?

If we switch back to the 4-3 one of these guys would be great as a DE opposite Ware

Jarvis Moss in round 1 (reminds me of Charles Haley)
Adam Carriker in round 1
Lamar Woodley in round 1-2
Dan Bazuin in round 2-3
Brian Robison in round 4-6

If we stay in the 3-4....then Adam Carriker is the guy we need at DE...he is the only one of the 5 above with ideal size and ability for a 3-4 DE

Carriker was awesome at the senior bowl and would be a great fit as a 3-4 DE. Most of the other guys you listed might be a fit at OLB in the 3-4. We will know more when they work out at the combine. Question is, would we move Carp to the middle or no?

I want Carp on the field....I want Carp as the QB of the defense. He is a football player....a football mind. He has been groomed his whole life to play football and is a student of the game, learning from his father and Parcells and even Tressell.

I just dont see James as an intelligent player. I dont think he has the mental ability to be successful in the league.

F all that. Buy Adalius Thomas and find some place to put Carpenter on the field. I'm on his bandwagon after the Seattle game.

i would rather have Tully Banta-Cain than Thomas....he is younger and cheaper. He also have experience under Belichick and his defense.

It's not just that its a 3-4 scheme, but how that scheme was ran. I think you will be suprised at the pass rush we get this upcoming year. Canty and Spears themselves have stated that at times they were told to not rush the QB and stay home on the run. I understand that, but if its a blatant pass, screw the lanes and get after the QB.

no one has overlooked that its an obvious problem. I believe that Jason hatcher will be great, once he gets the chance his size and speed is just awsome. Were not switching to the 4-3, the 3-4 is a fine defense look at the patriots.

What we need is another Olb on the other side of Ware. Burnett is to small. Carpenter shoudl move inside and replace Brady. And look at Jarvis Moss, VICTOR ABIRAMIRI, Brian robinson and spencer.

pressure is a must.
