Default Draft a late round kicker or retain Gramatica?

I was watching a college all star challenge this past weekend. Crosby, Vaughn(Virginia), and a kid from UCLA I think his name was Medlaugh. The kid from UCLA had a quick delivery and was dead down the middle. Vaughn actually was not bad either. Crosby was terrible. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

The drill was basically kicking 5 footballs within 60 seconds.. the balls were off one of those holders they use on the sidelines and they were spread out on the field. I believe the first two were at 40 yards, the next 2 at 50 and then finally the last at 55.

So do we keep Gramatica, or give a rookie a shot? I guess it depends on what direction we go with who is the ST coach? I wouldn't mind getting Hoffman back. Gramatica wasn't bad.. But there is just something about him.... I liked what I saw from Medlaugh.

Automatica has already done pressure kicks- the one against the Giants was right up there. Keep him.

Why wouldn't you keep Automatica Gramatica? His injuries were the reason why he was out of football.

Drafting kickers sucks because it isn't a position where you can keep someone on the roster to develop them. If the guy doesn't win the job you just have to cut him and it becomes a wasted pick.

Yes I'm a UCLA homer but, Medlock is a stud kicker.

I say both at the moment. Bring in some competition that is actually...competition and see who wins. The only regret about Gramatica is that he hinders the ST unit with his short kickoffs. I don't want the Boys to have to waste a roster spot on a kicker who does kickoffs, but the kickoffs need to be better.

Then again, if our defensive unit is going to be studly like I hope it will, it won't matter where the other team lines up!

I must agree with you....keep Gramatica, I mean who doesn't like to watch the guy make the tough field goals?

So long as he continues to make the field goals. Of course, I'm certain they'll bring in someone else to make it a nice competition. Grammatica has proven himself though hasn't he?

Also, nice Ferrari....did I mention I like to get gifts too?
