Hopefully, he learned a lesson about running your mouth... still, a 4.41 is pretty freakin' fast...

Maybe he had one too many Long Island Iced Teas the night before...

We knew he wasn't going to run a 4.1. The fastest in recent memory was Donte Stallworth who had a 4.18 a few years back. Deion ran a 4.15 legend says.

And don't get me started on Randall Williams.

A WR from Washington State... generally regarded as a possession receiver, but nobody had him running as fast as he apparently did at the combine...

Here's what they had to say about him at NFLDraftCountdown.com:

Quote:
Jason Hill
Height: 6-1 | Weight: 210 | 40-Time: 4.55

Strengths:

Has good size with a strong, solid build...Runs good routes and just knows how to get open...Physical and knows how to use his body...Was extremely productive and a big play threat...Hands are big and reliable...Good body control and adjusts well to poorly thrown balls...Natural athlete with good quickness who plays faster than he times...Agile and elusive in the open field...Has a nose for the endzone.

Weaknesses:

Timed speed is only average at best (not any more, it isn't) and he will have a considerably tougher time separating from pro corners...His concentration and focus have been an issue at times...Has trouble beating the jam at the line...Is only an average blocker...Fell of as a senior and did not have the great final campaign that most were expecting.

Notes:

Hope that's helpful to you... his draft stock had been slipping, to the point where he was considered a 3rd round prospect, but today's workout will probably move him back up to a solid 2nd rounder...

From the Stats , it looks like he should have ran that 4.3 at last years combine. 2004 and 2005 were solid but he dropped off this year. I dont follow the Pac-10 that much so I have no clue. He probably went from a 4-6 rounder to a 2nd or 3rd.

I don't know why his numbers fell off either... if there are any Pac-10 fans out there who can give us some perspective on this, it would be appreciated...

The next big question will be to see how the RB's fare. I think Peterson and Lynch both would be expected to post sub 4.4's.

I have "little working knowledge of football" but he had ankle and shoulder problems all year. He missed 2 games and was never 100%.

When he came back he wasn't the focal point any more.

He strongly considered coming out last year.

Good interview on NFLN week or two ago with him.

Actually may have been during Senior Bowl.

Seriously, thanks for filling in the blanks... I'd say his ankle is all better now, wouldn't you??

Yeah, I knew that... the way things worked out, he probably would have been better off financially if he had...

Meachem is moving up draft boards. He's killing it.

Not a fan of WR early.

I'm a Greg Jennings type WR fan.

Small school burner with huge production (80+catch season to their credit).

Aundrae Allison/Laurent Robinson.

WR's can be found anywhere.

More than any other position.

Hey, I like Laurent Robinson too... and he is pretty obscure, except to the more dedicated draftaholics...

Tell the truth, how many years of Kiper's draft guides do you have saved?? I'll bet Ourlads got some of your money, too...

QB/WR drills going on right now..

Very interesting to watch...

Troy Smith looks like a kid next to Russell

Adrian Peterson vertical 38 1/2 inch. He's a ripped guy, too.
Thank you to all donated to the Jason Witten Camp drive!

I just get the feeling that Russell is going to be a disappointment. Can't put my finger on why, just a gut feeling.

Those aren't combine times, Avery. I believe it was a 4.29 that Deion ran at the combine. He ran it once and took a bow or something. No way Stallworth ran that fast at the combine either.

Could have been Pro Day, but I do remember Stallworth running a sub 4.2
