DMN: Cowboy blog: SI.com has Cowboys picking Cal CB

SI.com has Cowboys picking Cal CB
Yes, it's way, way too early for mock drafts. But I got suckered into checking one out on SI.com.
SI's Don Banks projects the Cowboys will take California CB Daymeion Hughes, which would allow Anthony Henry to shift to free safety. Banks has Texas CB Aaron Ross, the Thorpe Award winner, slipping to the Saints five picks later. I trust Banks did a lot of homework for this mock draft, although he misspelled Hughes' first name and added three inches to his height.
Based on the Lone Star State pride around Valley Ranch these days, I'd be willing to bet the Cowboys take Ross if they want a CB in the first round.
The Steelers snagged my man Jarvis Moss with the 15th pick in SI's mock draft.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the DMN's Rick "Goose" Gosselin is annually among the world's most accurate mock drafters. Goose is at the combine as we speak, eyeballing prospects and chatting up GMs, scouts and other NFL movers and shakers.

That is the mock I'm waiting for.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I wouldn't mind seeing Aaron Ross on the other side of Terrance Newman, he might be taken before the Cowboys pick though.

Well, yeah, there were some strange things that happened that screwed everyone's mocks up last year. A website was posted last year, however, that took a lot of the popular mocks and analyzed them, and Goose's mock was in the top 2 or 3 historically in terms of correct picks.

If they take Ross over Hughes and Revis because he is from Texas that will be one of the most retarded things I have ever heard. Both are better CBs IMO.

in the end goose runs probably one of the best mocks out there for a variety of good reasons. count me in as one who looks forward to what he does.

I disagree.......IMO Ross is better than Hughes......I have seen Hughes play and he isnt the player Ross is.
Now I cannot comment of Revis, for I havent seen him play.
Also, do not worry about Dallas drafting Ross cause he is from Texas........but more along the lines of expect them to no draft him cause he is from Texas.....JJ and his razorback carcass seems to be anti-Longhorn.
