ABQ's first cut - 2007
Involves trade down with TB. (Strickly Hypothetical) Tampa's top needs are WR, DE, CB.
Dallas trades 1st Rd pick (22nd over all) and 6th Rd pick (180th over all) to Tampa Bay. In return, Dallas receives both of Tampa Bays 2nd Rd picks (35 and 64 over all).
Tampa Bay selects Calvin Johnson with the 2nd over all pick in the draft and DE Jarvis Moss with the 22 pick over all.
Cowboys select
2nd Rd.
35. Robert Meachem WR Tenn or Sidney Rice WR South Carolina
53. Joe Staley OT Central Michigan
64. Zak DeOssie ILB Brown
3rd Rd.
87. Eric Weddle FS/C Utah
4th Rd.
118. John Beck QB BYU
5th Rd.
149. Paul Soliai DT Utah
6th Rd.
185. Brandon Myles WR West Virginia
7th
193.Romance Taylor RB/WR Texas
215 Enoka Lucas C/G Oregon
218 Quincy Black OLB New Mexico

not a bad mock, I did mine and had Paul Soliai in the 5th as well, but I changed it thinking that might be a bit low for him, he had 2 impressive workouts at the Combine and his Pro Day, ran a 5.10 and 5.02, respectively
IMO, Staley is a late-1st round pick
Meachem could go as high as possibly top-15, so it most likely would be Rice at that spot
not a bad mock

I agree with you on Soliai. He might very well end up going in the 4th. He is not rated that high but the lack of quality NTs turns him into somewhat of a premium player. Staley might indeed be a first round pick but IMO, Staley will not be a LT in the NFL. He will either be a RT or a very good G. A lot depends on how people evaluate this player. To me, he is probably the most complete OL in this draft but, he doesn't have that physical attribute that allowes him to be a LT. JMO. Your probably correct on Rice vs Meachem. The school of thought there is that if we are trading out of the 1st round, that's one less team that might pick WR in the first. So I figured there might be some small chance that he drops into the second. Unlikely but one can hope.
