Default Mike McKenzie On verge of being dealt?

According to cbs sportsline and quoting a newspaper in Wisconsin Mike McKenzie did not make the trip with Green Bay because they may be on the verge of being dealt......Newman and Mckenzie with Roy would be very formidable for the next 5 years.

CB Mike McKenzie out

DST Packers, DST GB

News: According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, McKenzie is out for Week 3. He did not travel with the team to Indianapolis.

Analysis: This could be a sign that McKenzie is on the verge of being dealt by the Packers.

Mortensen just reported the same thing on espn....mentioning the cowboys and saints as the two possible teams.

I thought McKenzie was just injured and that's why he didn't make the trip?

If they give a 1st or 2nd rounder for this guy I'll snap.

From the ESPN link earlier in this thread.

The dialogue between the Packers and New Orleans Saints, who have pursued McKenzie in trade talks since training camp, escalated this week. McKenzie indicated that, despite his return to the Packers following the first game of the season, his preference remains to be traded to another club

I can't imagine they'd take less than a 3rd, and I just can't imagine we'd be willing to give up a 2nd with us not having a 3rd next yr. I could see NO dealing them a 3rd this yr and we just can't match that.

That's exactly what they want you to think.

wow - that's huge. for some reason i still think its a long shot that we'd be in the mix. if we do it, it would almost definitely be a 2nd rounder. we'
re not parting with a 1st, and that would be our edge on New Orleans. i'd be happy if we did it. this defense still can't get to the QB, so our corner play is crucial.

I would love this if it happened, but I wouldnt give up a 1st rounder. A second rounder.....if hes healthy, yes. If hes not 100% and cant help right away, no.

Why? Woody will be back in 2-3 weeks, and Dixon is a better safety than Hunter.

I cant wait until the deal is done.

That way . . . people can let go of this pipe dream.

He's not coming here . . .

I'll wear womans underwear on my head and do the chicken dance in a busy intersection if I'm wrong.

If he is indeed healthy and did not make the trip, I'd say it would be a done deal. A. Carrol has played exceptionally well early and when Mac had to come back with his tail between his legs after the 1st game I think the writing was on the wall. But I would be really surprised if it were Dallas and just as pissed if it were for a 1st rounder.

I'm a huge Mac fan but I just don't think he's the difference between wether or not Dallas makes the playoffs.

...although I'm pretty sure the Cowboys did a ton of home work on how to stop Moss before the start of the season, and one of the best at covering Moss has been McKenzie.

He'll sign a 1 year with a team in the AFC

The word on Woody is that he's having nerve problems in his leg after the surgery and dixon sucks.
