Kiss of death??
I like Peter King, but I wish he would have picked the Skins.

WHO I LIKE TONIGHT AND I DON'T MEAN AL MICHAELS
The angle of the game will be the renewal of the Parcells-Gibbs rivalry, which is a good one. I covered the Giants during some of the great Parcells-Gibbs years, mostly when Parcells was 11-3 against Washington in their last 14 meetings. Two scenes I remember clearly. On the Joe Theismann leg-breaking night, a young radio reporter enraged Carl Banks in the losing Giant locker room after the game with some question I can't recall. And Banks wanted to kill the reporter. Screaming and venomous, Banks finally had to be restrained by Parcells, who hustled from the shower, one hand holding a towel around his waist, to quell the disturbance. Imagine that sight. Real pretty. The other game: Oct. 27, 1986. Two nights after the ball rolls through Buckner's legs in Game 6. The Giants and 'Skins are playing for NFC East supremacy at the Meadowlands, with Game 7 of an epic Series going on simultaneously 20 miles away in Queens. Tense games. Sox go up 3-0. Giants go up 20-3. Football crowd with radios. Mets rally. Gary Clark catches a long throw from Jay Schroeder, gets up, and ... a roar from the crowd! Clark looks around in wonderment. The Mets have taken the lead. And so it goes, the football crowd cheering the baseball game. Schroeder throws for 420. LT sacks him three times. Joe Morris runs for the winning touchdown with 80 seconds left. Giants, 27, Redskins 20.
The tables have turned. Now the Redskins have the back. Dallas doesn't, unless Parcells runs the shifty ReShard Lee more tonight than he has so far this year. Look for Parcells, though, to say the exact same thing to Gibbs as he used to: You won't beat us running -- we just won't allow it.
If the shaky Washington passing game isn't very good tonight -- and I don't think it will be -- I like Dallas. For old time's sake, Parcells 27, Gibbs 20.

If it's any consolation, most of the ESPN experts picked the Redskins to win.

Bah, what does King know. He normally wrong on most of his picks anyway. Lee will definitely get his runs tonight along with George and it will be a wet sloppy game.

Two things I've always thought were long-forgotten by the Red Sox nation and baseball fans and media in general through all the teeth-gnashing over Buckner's gaffe: 1) They never should've been in that spot in the first place, as Calvin Schiraldi and Bob Stanley together allowed something like 8 consecutive baserunners to let it even get to that point; and 2) That , as King states in this article, my beloved BoSox were actually up 3-0 in the 6th inning of Game 7 and really blew it in t hat game.
All that off topic stuff having been said, I like our chances tonight, regardless of King having picked us!

No less pretty than the sight of King in Tuna's place. Interesting reference, but what was the point? Is Pete predicting a leg breaking tonite?
Forget it, it was more revevant than the baseball bit.

So expect more Zimmer defensive philosophy.

Honestly B. I think we match up very well against Washington... a feeble QB that can run too fast... almost a total absence of a deep passing game and a (in my opinion) a questionable defense that likes to gamble.
If we lose to these folks I'll be somewhat surprised.

I pretty much agree with King's take.
I expect Dallas will NOT let Portis beat them tonight. I remain of the opinion that Portis is a very nice, but very stopable RB, until he proves otherwise. He'll get a chance to prove that tonight and I don't expect he'll succeed.
On offense, I am quickly becoming a fan of our passing game. I am growing confident that our offense will stop self-destructing and soon have point production to match its yards. Even if the yardage comes down a bit the points still must increase to match it.
I feel fairly confident about this game, which of course means watch-out!
Nevertheless, I expect a W tonight. Don't let me down Boys!

I'm probably too cynical but that Brunell hammy sounded a little mythological to me. I'm sure he felt a twinge a week ago Sunday vs the Jints, but more one of embarrassment than pain. Sure enough, by the week's end a miraculous recovery ensued. But I don't think Bill was fooled by it.
I would much much much prefer facing Ramsey. Feeble, weak-armed or not, Marc can still read a field, a wet field or a dry one. The emphasis on containing Portis will open up some short stuff, and Brunell will be better able to exploit those holes than Ramsey.
Yes, it should be one in the win column, but the home field advantage is big tonite.
Just how much rain is expected, anyway? Hate to see Danny's tailgate party get drenched, or see the field the kind of mess the Phins played in last night.

I'm glad they are picking against us, that way they have to eat more feces covered crow after we win.
