North of Iraq, around Iraq, borders of Iraq. Really, Iraq.

Not sure what this has to do with the current debate but damn good thing the US handled this.

Fact: Saddam used al-qaeda to battle al-qaeda. All about the mighty dollar my friend. In their moccassins..........I'd be a sunni-****e for 500 bucks.

Wow. Sure are alot of "I's" in there. This hasn't been about WMD since the onset. You'd never see that. It's about a bunch of over-jealous morons who have nothing better to do, literally, than wreak havoc on the world's "evil doers." Would it make you feel more comfortable if we just waited and hoped that they targeted someone else?
Folks like you are fine with it as long as it ain't in your backyard.

Happy that you can speak for the rest of the world.

What do you mean me and those that think like me have supported the war? Where have I said that? I don't support any war. You assumed that. I'm into the power of communication. Amazing how that works. After it's all said and done and hundreds and thousands of people are dead they sit at a big table, talk, sign some papers and ta-dah.......................war over. I don't condone this war and in the same breath I do not condone terrorism, especially on this childish level.

“That is one of the luxuries of my position as owner as well as the ultimate decision maker, general manager and president – I can do that and take the losses and come back for more,” Jones said.

How can people continue to make these assertions with a straight face?

Mr. Quatch. Or may I call ya Sas?

If you think that's why the US went in there I believe you to be sadly mistaken. What the motive truly was/is we may never know.

ps............straight is the only face I have.......barring any major impacts. (may have to steer clear of Silverbear!)

There was no "al-Qaeda in Iraq" until after we invaded that country...

Care to explain exactly what you were trying to say there?? No matter where these anti-Saddam Kurds were basing their operations, they WERE anti-Saddam, and they WERE financed by Osama bin Laden...

I was pointing out that Hussein tended to have a VERY negative opinion of those who attempted to oppose his rule in Iraq, as bin Laden was doing by financing those Kurds... rI actually thought that would be pretty easy to figure out...

Obviously not, but that's what we were TOLD it was all about...

It would have made me feel more comfortable if our leaders hadn't fed us a pack of lies to get us to go along with that invasion... seems you don't have a problem with being deceived by them...

You clearly have no idea what I'd be "fine with"...

Look at the approval ratings for the invasion going in, and the approval ratings for it now... seems pretty clear to anybody who does that the opinions re: the Iraq war have changed considerably over the intervening years...

Or do you deny that the war has considerably less support around the country than it did back then?? I call my argument a common-sense analysis of the FACTS, rather than me "speaking for the rest of the world"... I also call that weak attempt at rebuttal "lame"...

The scoundrels in the administration are really unworthy of the well-meaning but misplaced loyalty shown by some of the posters onthis board. It's unfortunate that they aren't more deserving of those who believe in them so fervently.

Gentlemen, as wise man once told me to never talk politics and/or religon. I should've taken heed. Normally I do. Let it be known, as I may not agree, I still respect your opinions.
