Bowe is standing on the 32-1/2 yard line when the play starts at just before the 0:46 marker. He starts his route fast. At the 20 yard line he slows up as if to run an out route or a corner route, but quickly cuts back in to run a post. Russell throws the ball right at the 0:48 mark. At that point, Bowe slows his route (because the ball is thrown behind him), and crosses the goalline while catching the ball at the 0:50 market -- while the deep safety is several steps behind.
Thus, he ran about a 30-35 yard route, in which he intentionally slows to 1/2 (or 3/4) speed on two separate occasions, in just over 4 seconds, leaving the deep safety bewildered and abused. That's not slow.

No offense, but that's the last example I'd use of speed. The safety took an awful, lazy read on the play and guessed wrong. Then there was no one else in the middle. That was just a terrible defensive breakdown more than anything great that Bowe did.
