Regarding the firing of Jimmy Johnson, I remember that Jones actually wanted Jimmy to sign a contract extension/long term contract but Johnson refused. Does anyone else remember this or am I imagining it?

I don't remember that, but I do remember Jerry going to Battle Stations after Jimmy said during an interview that taking the job at Jacksonville and starting up that franchise would be "intriguing".... and whatever was left of that relationship went downhill after that... it is a miracle that they stayed together to win the Super Bowl again that year.
