Vincent Jackson measured in at 6-4.6 or 6-4 3/4 at the combine. So, I don't know where you're getting that he's 6-6. I'll be generous and say that he's 6-5 but that's it. Since he didn't play against top level competition at Northern Colorado, his stats are going to be inflated to begin with. According to reports I've read, he isn't a great route runner and doesn't look very fluid or smooth at all. He's certainly not a threat after the catch and definitely isn't going to stretch the field with a 4.56 forty. Jackson's biggest attributes are his soft hands and leaping ability with a 39 inch VJ at the combine. However, considering that he's played a lot of basketball it's really not so uncommon. For example, Matt Jones who is very similar in size to Jackson also played basketball and had an even better 39-1/2 inch VJ. I know that measurables don't tell you everything about a prospect, but when that prospect comes from a small school what else can you really count on?
In short, I think Jackson is a 4th round pick at best and would project better as a TE in the NFL.
