Seattle has for all intents and purposes dropped out and they were our main competition.
New Orleans eats 7.8 Million if they decide to simply hang on to him. This as opposed to freeing that money up if they trade him. Money they can use to re-sign Deuce McAllister, etc. On top of this if they kept him they'd have to split time with their other two DE prospects whom they are very high on.
New Orleans holds no cards in this hand. None of the other suitors hold cards in this hand. Jerry is just biding his time waiting for the Saints to call or fold.
[View Full Quote]Bottom line, he has the best cards and everyone knows it. This deal is very much alive.
Don't buy into the Dat Nguyen to New Orleans stuff. That may be what they want, but it is not what they will ultimately take.
Saints are still $5M under Cap. Its Howard thats killing the deal. He's got Plexiglass eyes!
