even if Bill wasn't a "win now" kinda coach, i think the situation in the NFL and especially in the NFC demands that we make a run at it, if at all possible.
we ran an offense last year whose primary mission was to keep vinny standing, and despite all odds it succeeded in that... we will run a similar offense next year to keep drew standing. several differences, however, will make that offense bear fruit. first and foremost, the running game. next, a deeper pool of capable WRs. third, an upgraded OL. fourth, a defense that will provide more opportunities. fifth, a QB who i believe is on a higher level than vinny.
to answer the topic though, i think coach and GM will get along fine. we will win enough games and show enough improvement to stay the course, and its hard to imagine either is stupid enough to jeopardize the mission. bill will fulfill his contract and coach AT LEAST thru '06. and if we're making serious noise by then, i believe he will extend a year or two to be there when it happens.
perhaps just as important in this whole equation is the impact parcells can continue to have on this organization after he leaves. his sources and contacts and list of "friends" is invaluable to a team. if jerry is one of the most influential and powerful owners, then bill is just as influential and powerful behind the scenes. as long as the two remain respectful of the other, the dallas cowboys will be well taken care of and in good hands...
