I think that if some of those early championship games had been held in neutral territory in decent weather Landry would have beaten him. It's impossible to tell.
IMO Landry has to be given strong consideration, especially since he took a team full of dregs and was playing in a championship game six years later. That and the stats posted above including 20 consecutive winning seasons.
