Yes, thanks much to the original poster. I have been automatically renewed for 7+ years now, and went to channel 215 and saw that I was not authorized. When I spoke with the rep, she tried to charge me the $54.75, and it took 5 minutes of explaining for her to finally "get it" and set me to the renewal rate (which is $49.95/month for four months).
I'm wondering if this is a marketing/sales ploy or an honest mistake. On the one hand, think of how many people will misunderstand the higher rate and get whacked with the $54.75/month. On the other hand, there might be people out there that don't miss their auto-renew and therefore cease to be customers. I tend to lean toward the former, however, someone probably figured they could milk some more money out of their existing customers.
At any rate, I have the "You are authorized" message now and I can sleep better tonight because of it.
