Don't confuse desire with egocentricity. He wants to play but it's safe to say that he has his career at heart and not what the team wants of him.

Because I look at it like this if he is so danged determined to start at CB he'll have to beat out either Henry or Newman does anyone think he can? No but if he drives himself to make himself happy and he does beat out one of them do you think BP will be upset with him? only for spending the extra dough in getting Henry. Now I know thats a big if but lets say he winds up winning the FS position not because he wants to play FS but because he just wants to play and is best at it out of what we have what is wrong with that. Would it benefit the team if he were the best for the job and did it willingly? YES Now he said he was willing to do whatever it took to play thats a good thing. and if you don't think so man I don't know what else to say.
Won't happen. He won't beat out anyone of the three contenders because he won't ever be given the chance to do so. They are the named starters. Competition at the position does not necessarily entail a competition to win the starting job. As for the FS job, he said he'd play on a need basis only. So... pretty much if Roy goes down.

How did you take this Glover quote about possibly not starting?
He got screwed because of his size and not his talent. I believe that he could very well beat out Ferguson but he won't be given that chance.
