It seems like I've been reading about a lot of players either bulking up, (JJ,
Quincy Morgan,
Lousaka Polite,
Stephen Peterman, etc.), or trimming down, (
Larry Allen,
Marcus Spears, etc.). I think we got a real winner in
Joe Juraszek, the strength & conditioning coach. I don't know much about him, but I have rarely seen as many players come back one year later with so much added bulk & strength.
Not only will this help us in the obvious area of one-on-one competition in games, but I think we will see a diminishing IR list, which is just as critical. The last couple of years, especially last year, we have been inundated with injuries to key players. I am really stoked that we have a guy who has sold the players on continuing to get bigger, stronger, and quicker. It will really begin to show up in the last few minutes of games, and as the season wears on.
