Yup, Michael Irvin vs Darrel Green. Irvin wouldn't beat Green in a 40 if you gave him a 5 yard head start. But by using positioning and quickness Irvin was able to have success against the fastest man in the NFL.
Speed is nice, but it's way down the list of skills that a WR needs. We need GOOD WRs, not necesarilly fast ones. If we had drafted Mike Williams we would have seriously upgraded our WR corp but we wouldn't have suddenly become fast.
