Having an opinion on a matter is one thing; having an informed opinion on a matter is entirely another. It usually takes me about 10 seconds of hearing someone's opinion on a particular Redskins-related matter to get a pretty good sense of just how informed their opinion is. That's not due to assumed level of intelligence, by the way---it's due to the fact I have no life and spend far too much time on the Redskins. 
The biggest tip-off, typically, is whether or not someone is willing or able to acknowledge the opposite view on a particular matter, or if they are simply repeating the standard, semi-informed partisan position of one side of an issue---be it pro or con. In my experience, when that's the jumping-off point for a discussion, the smart money is to head the other direction.

Ironic, coming from a guy who's own boards moderators have the football knowledge of a retarded badger. Guys over there like Art, Die Hard, yourself, etc. flaunt "football knowledge" in an attempt to appeal to their audience. Art is just a power hungry moron with no sense of up or down, Die Hard bans anyone who makes him look stupid ( believe me, I was banned for the most massive mod owning in that sites history), and you insult anyone who claims to know anything about the foreskins who isnt a Washington fan, yet on ES you claim to be a guru on the Dallas Cowboys. Asthma took you to school, and you know it. Despite what you may or may not think, we are capable of knowing something about other teams, especially a team that is the laughing stock of the NFL.
