And football is what the conferences/superconferences are geared up for. Being a good basketball program would only be a bonus, but you better have a good football program first and foremost. And while FSU has struggled over recent years as far as winning, they do bring other aspects related to football to the table.
FSU is back. Check out the recruiting--it's back near the top after a 10+ year hiatus.
Don't be surprised if they are a top 5 team on a regular basis again as soon as 2014, maybe even next year.
If the Big 12 added those two schools, they just added two of the very best college football venues and fan bases around.
It'd be a huge get.
