I would be looking for a guy who can play OLB but can also be a great pass rusher. There is no need to get a guy high who doesn't have that ability at OLB.
We do need to start preparing for the day when Ware is no longer a dominant pass rusher. If Ware becomes just a good pass rusher as he ages we are going to be toast. His game has always been based off of speed so the loss of a step will make a huge difference. The thing about speed is that it tends to go before strength and power so he probably isn't going to have the same kind of longevity as guys like Reggie White and Bruce Smith.
We can easily get by with someone who is only adequate dropping back into coverage. Spencer is only adequate right now. We can also deal with a guy who is only adequate against the run. But we need a guy who can be a good pass rusher. That is the way the game is moving and we only have one guy right now who can get the job done off of the edge. The Giants have four (JPP, Osi, Tuck and Kiwi).
