I had a friend years ago call me to tell me he needed my advice on buying a larger monitor. During my conversation, he kept saying, "How tall is it?" Now I was thinking he was trying to fit it into a computer desk/cabinet and had limited space or maybe had a shelf that was above his computer desk. So I asked him what monitor size he wanted and he said, "As tall as possible." I asked him what he mainly did, he said surf the web. I asked him if he had eye trouble, he said no. Finally, I asked why he needed such a large monitor for just surfing and he said he needed more room on the screen because he could hardly see the web pages.
I run by there one afternoon thinking he had reset his desktop resolution to something like 800x600 which was limiting his space. When I got there, I was stunned to see that he had about 8 toolbars installed. I asked him why he had so many and he said because he visits all of those sites. I informed him he could use those sites without the toolbars and he was stunned.
Never assume anything with anyone when it comes to computers
