It sounds like both QB and receiver have to be on the same page -- if they see things differently, they run something other than what the QB is expecting, often leading to horrifying (i.e. pick sixes or momentum killing interceptions) results. How subjective are these reads? Because if there is a lot of room for interpretation, it makes perfect sense that these reads wouldn't always align. Almost like there is TOO much flexibility in what the receivers are allowed to do. And quite frankly, if they're reading what the guy across from them is doing, along with trying to see what the safeties are doing -- just seems like a lot to worry about when you're trying to run crisp routes and get open.

Being able to adjust on the fly, mentally, is every bit as much of a skill as doing it physically. Just seeing how Romo connected with Robinson--with just one abbreviated offseason--convinced me that the issue probably isn't with the QB or the system, necessarily. Harris, too, seems to get it. And Witten, and Miles.
You can also tell when Romo stopped forcing to Dez and KO. The TO problem cleared up pretty dramatically. I think, if we're going to fault anything here, it's in not getting the right players to be successful here. KO's been on this roster, what, 4 years now? Ridiculous. He can't cut it, and, if we were betting on someone else stepping up, we crapped out so far. We should have brought in some insurance at the beginning of the season.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee
