Martellus Bennett has dubbed himself “The Black Unicorn’’ in his first season with the Giants but he likened himself to Cyclops of the X-Men and also Superman in chronicling what he says was a life-saving maneuver following Sunday’s 38-10 victory over the Packers.
Bennett broke the fall of what he described as a middle-aged male fan toppling out of the seats at MetLife Stadium as the Giants were walking through the tunnel leading to their locker room.
“Usually, I prefer women to dive out the stands,’’ Bennett said.

I was walking into the locker room and some kids were like ‘Hey Black Unicorn.’ That’s what they call me. And I was like, ‘Hey, yeah, what’s up guys?’ And then I was handing my gloves. Some guy, he was probably like 48 years older than the little kid that wanted the glove, but he tried to take the glove from the little kid, and the little kid like took it and ducked, and then he went over the top of the little kid. And I just caught him. It wasn’t that big of a deal.
