IRVING, Texas -- One of the things the Cowboys liked about safety
Danny McCray is his ability to make open field tackles. But over time, McCray improved his ability to cover receivers and tight ends giving the defensive coaches confidence in his ability in pass coverage.
While McCray hasn't given up a touchdown, he's coming off the field in dime coverage for
Eric Frampton.
"Danny is just banging away," coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday morning when asked about the safety. "He's been dealing with some injuries all year long, he's another one of those tough guys who everybody just loves to be around because he keeps playing. He plays a lot on defense, plays a lot on special teams; So there have been a couple of things that haven't gotten his way, there's no question about that, but he's working hard and he's trying to get better, he's playing through a lot of different things."
