My short answer is Saturday your local PetsMart and Petco is going to have pet rescue groups all over -
visit and pick their brains. Also search for
www.petfinder.org, Google other local rescues for advise this issue.
One of the reasons US pet rescues require a contract cats be indoors-only is this one, plus roadkills, they become homeless again, disease from other animals....

I bet you like this cat in your general neighborhood (I was assuming you still lived in Cajun country - Geoux Tigers!)....when my orange 20-pound Maine Coon grows up he wants to be like Mike the Tiger.
