You may disagree with it if you like. That is, of course, your prerogative. For the record, I never said that what the NCAA is doing was right. I said it didn't matter. I said the issue at hand for PSU was a question of public perception and in order to change that perception, you must accept the punishment.

The University did do wrong. Perhaps not every individual associated with the University but then, those folks are not the people who are "The University". I don't think that only the University should be punished and I have made this very clear but I am also trying to be very clear on the point that yes, the University should also be punished. That means that the program has to suffer for it's part in this. I don't see any way around that.
