Not to say that Hanna is better than Witten, rather that the drop off compared to what we get in return sounds palatable.
Witten is coming off of a 110 catch season with a 1,039 yard...I'd say his cost/production is still quite high. Hanna has had some solid catches and I love his athleticism, but he's doing so while guys like Witten, Dez, etc... occupy the defenses focus. It's a different story to be 'the guy' at a position.
Ware played hurt last year period...and still produced what amounts to a very good season for many players with 11.5 sacks & 5 forced fumbles. And of course he had 19.5 sacks in 2011.
By contrast...Jason Pierre-Paul recorded 6.5 sacks last season, with no sacks over the last 7 games.
The Cowboys have handed out some bad long-term deals...but Ware & Witten weren't among those. Guys like Rat, Austin, etc. are far greater problems in terms of cost vs. production.
