Ware played hurt last year period...and still produced what amounts to a very good season for many players with 11.5 sacks & 5 forced fumbles. And of course he had 19.5 sacks in 2011.
By contrast...Jason Pierre-Paul recorded 6.5 sacks last season, with no sacks over the last 7 games.
The Cowboys have handed out some bad long-term deals...but Ware & Witten weren't among those. Guys like Rat, Austin, etc. are far greater problems in terms of cost vs. production.

If we could get similar production that guys like Fasano and Bennett are getting in Miami and New York from Hanna, the benefits of additional resources spent else where would more than make up the difference.
No one is saying they aren't still productive, rather its prudent to get value out of them if we can, while we still can.
