I didn't love the Rangers last year, and I don't love them this year.
While I think the shortened season really helps them with their style of play, they just simply do not have enough playmakers to be serious contenders I don't think. They might score goals this year, and Nash is incredible, but the reason I never thought they'd win it all last year is that they simply do not possess the puck enough. I don't think that has changed to be honest.
I know its early and hard to tell what teams might or might not be able to do, but the Rangers have to get a lot more out of their role players if they want to make a serious run.

The Rangers made the stupidest move that got the most praise this offseason. They got rid of three great depth forwards, two of them top 6 forwards. Also traded a way a young D Man that would be much needed in a year or two. Now, the Rangers rely on one line to produce for them and still have three serviceable defenseman. But hey, it made the headlines so what does Dolan care.
