Everytime the thread is viewed by a user and my image is viewed, does it mean that it gets the image from the source, which is my website and i'm getting a hit to my website?

It's because you used the [ url ] [ /url]
Use [ img ] [ /img ] (minus the spaces within the brackets) and you will get this:
