Good for you. I think it might be hard to find links that say "SEPT 12,2003 NEWMAN DIDNT PLAY GOOD" "SEPT 19,2003 NEWMAN PLAYED OKAY BUT GOT BURNT ONCE" "SEPT 26,2003 NEWMAN PLAYED BAD AND TOOK A DUMB PASS INT CALL" etc etc etc....

Its like that in every other division the majority of guys never make it in the NFL. thats just a fact. And to single out the BIG 12 alone shows that you have something against that division.

The BIG 12 is lucky to produce one 1st round cornerback a year so you cant say alot of players are highly "thought" of.

I don't recall Newman struggling as a rookie. Were there moments he got beat? Sure, but not enough to say he struggled. He was pretty solid back there for the vast majority of the season. He was one of the main reasons that Dallas led the league in pass defense and were 2nd in points allowed.

Now maybe you can say he struggled his second season. He gave up some big plays, but even at that I did not think he played as poorly as some made it out to be. There was no pass rush that season and no safety help. People think the pass rush is poor this season. There was nothing in 2004. Wiley was a joke and just got in the way.

Yeah I agree... But im just proving a point because this guy thinks hes been great since day 1. He did struggle a bit in his first season and some in his 2nd season. But not to the point he was a liability. He played pretty good coverage just made some mental mistakes. This guy is trying to say hes been a pro bowler pretty much since day one.

Lets not forget that in his rookie season he only had one pick until like week 15 where he owned Washington for 3 Ints. So thats 14 games without a turnover. Not that im all about the numbers im just saying those arent exactly pro bowl numbers and he wasnt playing like a pro bowler in his rookie year. Pro Bowls mean nothing anyways.

Still stand by my general analysis of Big 12 CB's.
Never mind that the facts don't bear out your so-called "analysis"...

Truth is, you don't do analysis, you throw out random thoughts like "Jammer is a bust", and "Brooks is a thug"... that's called expressing your OPINION, not analysis...

And your opinion pretty much stinks...

Said the man who has never brought a FACT to any of his bogus arguments...

The plain truth is, Newman DID have a rather miserable sophomore slump, and he took a fair amount of criticism for it... he's clearly turned it around now, but it doesn't change that he struggled in 04...

Silver, so does yours. So we are even.
Jammer was drafted 5th. He has never shown the performance to justify that pick. As far as I am concerned he is a bust. Ellis has never justified his draft status either- but he has played well and this year one could almost say that he has finally shown to be worth his pick. But till now he could be regarded as a bust as well.
Newman was mentioned for Def Rookie of the Year and that would have put him in the pro bowl more then likely.

I agree with the BPA to an extent.. if Romo works out, you don't draft a QB.. Julius and MBIII are good, you don't draft a RB.. BPA works for positions where there are a lot of starters and need for a lot of depth.. think OL, DL, LB, CB, WR..

more than likely, I see us taking an OL, DT, or WR in the first round next year.. no way do we go with a LB or CB..

Silver- really you must learn some self control. Its not that hard. Just take a few deep breaths. Calm yourself. Don't want you to stroke out. I get too much amusement from you.

I don't think that the FS position has been settled yet. That is more important right now than CB. There is a FS out of Wyoming who is getting more & more press-John Wendling, 6-1, 222, 4.38.

Man, this kid is a specimen. He has the body to play either Safety position, & the speed to play CB. He is also one of the brightest players in next year's draft. Right now, he's looking to go in the 2-3 rd. range, but I have a feeling he will be low 1, high 2 before it's all over. Man, if we could finally find that speedster ball hawk in the middle to free our best defensive player, (Roy W.) to do what he does best-play in the box & create havoc behind the LOS.

This kid just put on 18 lbs. of muscle over the winter without losing his amazing speed-4.38. With that kind of speed, he could make up a lot of space in a hurry.

The one UT senior I want the Cowboys to draft above all others is Justin Blalock. I don't know if he's going to end up at guard or tackle in the NFL, but he's going to be really good for a long time.

exactly newman did good his rookie season...his sophmore season..was pretty bad...and for these reasons......

1)we had no right corner back...so wed usually play a safety closer to that side which would leave newman in 1 on 1 situations more than half the day...and Champ Bailey could barely handle that, when he first went to denver(the same season newman struggled, bailey was getting beat in man)

2) if u remember..they were saying that newman was playing the whole season with a banged up knee.

so there u go
