WR Paul Williams
take this for what its worth, jeff ireland has spoken to paul on a couple of occasions at practices for the shrine bowl.
one of his brothers told me paul called and let him know.
jeff ireland is the one he spoke to.
asked questions about his family, his brother. the enviroment at fresno state, and questions about football, and what being in the nfl would mean to him.
i guess these are the kinds of stuff they ask to basically get a feel for the character of a player.
of course they probably talk to alot of players during the week, and what not. but boy i would love to have paul in dallas. great guy, and has his head on right. not to mention the kid is blzing fast
heres a little highlight video on paul williams

I used to laugh every time you would pump up one of your fresno guys back in the day but this guy looks like he could be legit.
Where do you think he could be had? Definently fill a need in getting younger at that position.

some people say bottom of the first early 2nd. but he had a down yr. if he has a awsome shrine game and combine he could be there bottom 1st. but i think if he stays status quo, dallas or any team that wanted him could have him bottom 2nd-3rd
the guy is raw, but he's going to make some team very happy in 1-2 yrs

I may end up going to the shrine game, but I don't know too many of the players. Thanks for the heads up.

he's tall and lanky, but he's added size to his frame. he wont be mistaken for calvin johnson but after johnson u probably wont find a more physical wr in this draft.
he's about 6'2 215 right now

Well I can't say that I would pleased with a WR in the 1st but late 2nd, early 3rd would definently be worth a look.

yup, i think dallas needs a WR early this yr. after owens and glenn. u have crayton who will never be more then a 3rd. hurd who must have let his few media admireres get to his head because the guy vanished after that game he started when glenn was injured. and austin? lol no
wether it be paul or another wr, dallas def needs youth

Of the players I've read that the Boys have talked to at the Shrine practices, Williams, John Wendling (a big free safety from Wyoming) and Dan Bazuin (the defensive end/linebacker from Central Michigan) are the three who intrigue me the most... all of them look like second or third round prospects at this point...

I agree on the assessment of our current WR's.
Though, I have no clue about this Williams guy.

Well the guy had a heck of a game against San Jose St. anyways
seems to be great at using his body with good hands and the ability to break the big one. Seems like T.O. style of player.
I have always hated highlight videos b/c you never see drops, run blocking, or tough catches over the middle.

Paul Williams aka Little Enos Burdette from Smokey & The Bandit?
Thankfully, I was smart enough to have never believed...

The guy has 72 catches for 1,048 yards and 8 TDs in 4 years. With 21 catches for 229 yards and 1 TD i'd say that qualifies as a down year. He has the measurables but he'll have to be lights out from here on out to go early round 2. This is considered the strongest WR draft in years. Most likely a 3rd rounder as of right now. Could be a steal, then again could drop off the face of the earth.

GBN Draft Report has something about an injury concern when they list him at 11 in their WR rankings. Does anybody know what that would be about?

For me to judge a player based on a few highlight plays is not right, but he seems like he has big play potential. I've not watched many Fresno St games so how does he block. Perhaps I'm misreading his body language, but his celebrations seem very self-centered instead of team oriented. Maybe he's a good team player, but I only have what I saw on that clip to go by. Much of the competition he faced wasn't top-tier either(yes I know he played USC, and Boise, but those weren't elite defenses either). Anyone have any feedback on what type of person he is? His history?

kinda reminds of a guy last year some were pumping here on this site...Greg Jennings..who turned out pretty well for GB.
Don't know a whole lot about Paul but looks like someone we might grab if he's still around late 3rd or 4th round...more likely day 2.
Still left to accomplish:
sign OT Winston or G Moore
