He's not known for his speed. This was faster than I thought he'd do. It's good news for Sidney.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

This may be an incomplete list, I'm working from memory here, but these are the players that I've read the Boys have talked to at the Combine:
Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan State... looks like a 2nd rounder right now...
Aundrae Allison, WR, East Carolina... a likely 3rd or 4th round prospect...
Samson Satele, C/OG, Hawaii... 2nd, maybe 3rd round for him...
Gaines Adams, DE/OLB, Clemson... a high 1st rounder, likely top 10 pick...
Charles Johnson, DE/OLB, Georgia... late 1st, early 2nd round type...
LaMarr Woodley, DE/OLB, Michigan... another 2nd or 3rd rounder...
Dan Bazuin, DE/OLB, Central Michigan... and yet another 2nd or 3rd rounder...
Jamaal Anderson, DE/OLB, Arkansas... an early 1st rounder...
Aaron Ross, CB, Texas... late 1st, early 2nd round...
[View Full Quote]Earlier, at the Senior Bowl, the Boys talked with Stanton and Bazuin, and five others that I can remember:
Syvelle Newton, QB/WR, South Carolina... a conversion project from QB, might end up going undrafted...
Paul Williams, WR, Fresno State... a late 3rd/early 4th round prospect...
Lorenzo Booker, RB, Florida State... an early second day pick...
Herbert Taylor, OT, TCU... likely a 5th or 6th rounder...
John Wendling, S, Wyoming... late 2nd/ early 3rd roud type...
I get the nagging feeling I'm missing one or two players that the Boys showed an interest in at the Senior Bowl... but just working off that list, the Boys could go for CB Ross in the first, C/OG Satele in the second, DE/OLB Bazuin in the third, WR Williams in the fourth, RB Booker in the fifth and OT Taylor in the sixth (I have a hunch the Boys are looking at him as a possible conversion project to center)...
I'd have NO problems with the picks in the first 4 rounds, none at all...
Anyway, if any of y'all know which players I might have left off this list, by all means let me know about it... I like to keep track of the players the Boys show interest in, if only because it gives me some idea of what POSITIONS the team is focusing on... this time around, there's 5 DE/OLB tweeners, 3 WR prospects and 2 DBs... so far, I've been a little surprised at how few offensive linemen the Boys have been talking to...

Good stuff. Not sure about S Newton. He started at QB then WR then QB then WR and S at Carolina. He's fast, athletic, not real smart, and versatile. He ought to go to Canada and play QB IMO but I hope he does make it. I think S is his best bet although he has little experience there. Which is probably why he'll go undrafted. He's worth a 7th maybe.

Anthony Gonzales and Steve Smith both ran 4.44. Where do they go? I think they've both definitely helped themselves today.

At most... I'm pretty sure the Cowboys' interest in him is predicated on trying him at WR, or perhaps at S...

Also, Jerry is pissed that he's not getting more immediate starters/production from 1-4 picks and FA.
Grubbs a day one starter.
John Wendling, S/CB Wyoming
Tyrone Moss RB Miami
Herbert Taylor OT TCU
Syvelle Newton WR/FS/QB South Carolina
Paul Williams WR Fresno St
Daniel Francis CB LSU
Dan Bazuin from CMU
Brian Robison DE/OLB Texas
Other guys we talked to at all star games.

You mentioned Wendling. Here's a clip somebody posted over at ES. Ureal hops:

When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. I will say that's pretty freaking amazing. However, to be fair, he did lift his feet higher than he actually elevated from the ground which shows more flexibility than hops. Watch his outstretched hands. They don't get that much higher from where they started. That said, it is amazing and he put together the perfect NFL scout attention grabbing ice breaker. Props.

Now I'm of the opinion we can't go wrong having 2 young, freaky athletes at that position since we've been starving there for a while.
Competition makes everyone better, and you can play them both. Use one on 1st and 2nd and use the other on 3rd and obvious passing situations. A ton of ST's for both as well.
If not, we're a high ankle sprain away from KD starting for 4 plus weeks next to the other liability in coverage.

Beyond the freakish athletic ability, the kid is smart. Recruited to several Ivy League schools and he was a finalist for the Draddy Award (I think Leonard won).
The secondary could use some intelligence as well.
