Well, I hope he gets that problem solved. I really like this guy and think he would be a good fit for us.

I dont care that we have money tied up in our secondary. It is our weekness and if we fix it asap we can win now

we have 3 breakdown in our D:
1) pass rush
2) MLB

aside from the non-factor of school preferences, what other recommendation do you have for corner?

I don't. Why do we have to take a corner in the first? If I have to take one, it sure isn't going to be that one.

your choice sounds like it's based on school, not talent...

No - my choice is based on I don't think he's a first round talent. My comment of schools in this thread is because UT fans seem to have a huge knack for overrating the talent on their team.

I'm a big horns fan, Ross isn't ready to be a starter. His potential is as good as anyone else in the draft, but to expect him to come into the NFL and start as a rookie when he only started his senior season is crazy

He is a great college player. If Ross ran a 4.4, I would take him over any CB. He is a ballhawk and puts himself in great position to grap the int. However running a 4.5 on a fast track is like running a 4.6 before the tracks became revamped to help college players run better times. I just think Ross will get burned too often if he plays CB in the NFL. I could see him going in the low first round and being converted to a FS. Sometimes players like Ross and Jammer make much better cover FS even though they want to play CB for the money.

Pretty much what you said. I don't see the comparisons between he and Jammer. I can see ross being a round 2 value and easing him into the league, but he is going to need to spend a season or 2 with a position coach learning excellent techinique.
Not saying you have to have a starter in the first, but there is plenty of risk that Ross would never develop into a constant starter, so I don't see him that high.

Yeah, that's a good reason to pass on a good player...

When I was watching the combine on nflnetwork they claimed Ross ran a 4.45, did they change it since then?(edit/I think it may have been 4.47 instead of 4.45)

Keep reading the thread. I clarified. The post was more to the reason anyone would even consider this player in the first, not the ability of the player.

Hey, hey, hey, don't be bustin' on my 'Horns now. Vince and Roy don't look to overrated to me. Every school puts out greats, busts and tweeners.
