Default LaMarr Woodley - Michigan DE - Pro Day

Results are coming in. Looks like he ran a 4.71, threw up 29 reps, and had a 38.5" vertical.

Very nice numbers, and it'll certainly put him out of reach for our 2nd round pick. I say we bundle up those extra 2nd day picks and see how far we can trade up to get him.

Full Name : Woodley, LaMarr
College : Michigan
Height: 6'2
Weight : 274 lbs.
Position : Defensive End
NFL Comp : DeMarcus Ware - Cowboys

BIO:
Wood-Daddy as he's known, is a big time pass rusher who can play standing up or with one hand on the ground. He seems to always be in on all the action, and always comes up big when the Wolverine's need him to. Will be a hybrid OLB/DE in the mold of DeMarcus Ware and Shawne Merriman in the NFL.

If he is there in the 2nd I bet we go Dan Bazuin out of Central Michigan.

He weighed in at 265 at his Pro Day. This guy is a young Adalius Thomas.

With so many DEs in this draft, Bazuin can be had in the 3rd possibly even in the 4th. Guys like Crowder, Robison, Moses, Abiarimiri will push him down. Woodley was a 1st rounder on par with guys like Spencer and Moss until he was injured and didn't run at at the Combine. These numbers comfirm that he's still in their league.

NFL Draft Scout on Woodley.

gosh, so many to choose from

this is why I don't get why people want to draft a RB, or OG over WR, CB and DE/OLB in this draft

If we could get:

1. Dwayne Bowe/Robert Meachem
2. LaMarr Woodley
3. Daymeion Hughes

I'd wet Hostile and abersonc.

Almost exact numbers of Anthony Spencer. Spence ran a 4.69 and has 30 reps.

Both weigh 265 but I think Spencer is a 1/2 inch to an inch taller..

I would take either though.

The only thing I didnt like about Woodley is how Levi Brown abused him at Senior Bowl...

Woodley is 6'1-4/8" and Spencer is 6'2-7/8". I'd prefer them both to be a little taller, but with the pass-rush skills of both, you can't complain.

Exactly...

If 5'11 Elvis Dumervill can have more sacks than Mario Williams, then the Broncos are one organization that looked past his physical inadequacies.

plus they moved him to LB, DEs need long arms to keep OTs at bay, OLBs, not so much

Speaking of long arms, according to one report, Woodley had the 2nd longest arms of any DE at the combine. That makes his 29 reps even more impressive.

The Cowboys can let the game come to them.

If someone drops snag him. Listen to offers and evaluate them but feel no real need to move up or down.

At 22 you can get a future starter like Woodley or a WR and he can play year 1 or you may grab a FS that can start day 1.
But I still don't know what any team saw Thursday night that would have made them comfortable with waiting a round or two for the offensive lineman they wanted. ---Todd McShay
We just converted half our LB to DL. We have a 30m starting DL, it better be pretty friggin good.
