Perfect explanation on why Cleveland wants to make the move....
I think too much Romeo - Weiss connection to believe that Cleveland wants to trade up to secure Adrian Peterson.
Bye Bradie.....

Yeah, after going out of their way to sign Jamal Lewis, they are going to spend even more money on another RB..........

It's fairly simple, if Cleveland trades with Detroit for their spot, it assures them that a team like Tampa cannot jump them at the last minute, and take Quinn. As fast as Quinn was reportedly falling in January, is just as fast as he is rising now after the workouts and interviews, and for good reason. The guy knows football with the best of them, and has all of the physical skills to go along with it. Also, a great personal attitude.

Also...Miami could try and move up there as well.

They run basically the same offense. Quinn could step in from day one.

I don't really see the logic in the trade. Browns are in a great position to move down and still acquire someone.
I'm also not 100% convinced that Peterson is the pick; they are paying Lewis $5 mil a season.

Or you can get real lucky in free agency...........Romo.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I think the fact that Quinn is from Ohio and stated recently that it was his dream to play for the Browns helps a bit.
It only makes sense that they are trying to get Quinn. When it comes down to it, there are only two legetimate franchise QB's, and IMO a franchise QB should always go above any other position.
Take the Raiders for example, they have toiled in QB patheticness since Gannon, yet they have4 recently passed on Phillip Rivers, Ben Rothlisberger, Matt Leinart and Jay Cutler. Thus they remain the Raiders.
IMO, if you don't have a very good to great QB, you do whatever you can to get one and then build your team from there.

Seems obvious to most but not to all...obviously. I'm not certain the Raiders will take Russell but certainly even they are not that stupid.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Thanks for the explanation, makes a little more sense now.
Still seems kinda high giving a 2nd to move up just 1 spot, but I guess they are scared Detroit is going to trade with somebody else.

I know, but that's what it takes to move around in the rarified air that is the top of the NFL draft. That's what so many don't understand when they're saying move up to get a guy like CJ or A. Peterson... it takes a huge amount to get up near the top of round 1. I can't even imagine what it would take to go from #22 to say, #3. The amount we would have to give up would be staggering.

Exactly why it was kinda unnerving to read where posters, who recently asserted that by simply packaging Romo, Julius Jones and/or a draft choice, a team holding a high draft choice would be remotely enticed in surrendering it to Dallas.

I know... you see it all the time. I suppose they don't understand the huge amount it takes to get up into the, say, top 5. Moving into the 12-18 range isn't nearly so bad, but still takes a pretty good bit. Problem there is that all the truly can't miss prospects like CJ are long gone by then, so you might as well take a guy at #22 because the odds are about the same there as getting one at around 12 or so. Still, if there is a player the coaches really like there at 12 and he won't be there at 22, then that's a lot more likely a trade to happen, and I wouldn't neccessarily disagree with that.
