I was at that Cardinal game we lost. I don't remember if it was that game or one before, but I remember after the game, the fans took the goal post and carried it around Mill Ave like they had just won the Super Bowl.

Football Resurrected.

Emmitt Smith had an excellent game against the Vikings on Monday night. Had he not been injured, he perhaps would have had over 200 yards.

I was too and it almost spoiled my Thanksgiving because I kept having images of Leon Lett sliding in and hitting the football and "no Leon." Thank goodness we played so well and avenged that loss. It didn't make the loss to the Cardinals any easier to swallow. We had lost to them in overtime in 97 and I was there. That was the first time we had lost to them in like 6 or 7 years if I remember right. In 98 we beat them again and I thought things were back to normal. Then here came 1999 to throw water on me and wake me up. It began 4 straight years of us losing @ Arizona.

Egad. Look at those scores. "13" was not our lucky number in 1999. But that first game made living and working in DC worth it for me.

That first game was one of the all-timers. A big thing that year was losing Irvin to injury. Irvin and Rocket Ismail made up one of the best WR combos in the NFL and losing Irvin badly hurt the team. The offense struggled all year after that.

I debated whether or not to signify the 4th game of the year and the game where Irvin's injury was cheered by Eagles fans at the stadium. If you have strong feelings about that either way, please let me know.

I do remember that Kavika Pittman notched three sacks in that last game. Didn't make up for passing on Tony Brackens, however.

I was at that 2nd Arizona game as well. First Cowboy game I ever took my oldest Son to. He was sporting a Michael Irvin Jersey and as we were leaving, an Az fan reached out and took him by the Jersey and started yelling in his face. I came unglued and whaled that guy right there in the stands. Probably one of the dumbest things I ever could have done. If things had gotten ugly, who knows what could have happened to my Son? Was a stupid thing and I consider myself very luck not to have had something much worse happen.

Hos, are you going to stop here with the seasons or keep on going??

The 2000 season was completely abysmal as well as the Campo tenure...

Might want to skip to the 03 season when the Tuna sails in... just food for thought, but good work on the seasonal breakdown, it's brought back a few oh yeahs, and oh craps... ;-)

I'm going all the way to 2006, though I don't have a photo of them yet. The thread when it hits the History Zone will also include 2007, which for now is just the schedule and Draft. I'll update it each week.
