If Chung is also gone in the 2nd then someone like English, Barwin or Sidbury has probably fallen to us and in that case I think we'd take them, Williams or Iglesias and then target Darcell McBath later on.
That's how things seem to be shaping up, in my opinion.

D Williams or M Thomas from Arizona?
I'd prefer Thomas.
Also, I know we were interested in Freeman at LB as well. So, if Delmas, Chung, etc are gone at 51, maybe he would be one of the targets?

I think we trade up for Delmas, Robiskie, or Nicks.

I agree. I think those are the only players we trade up 10-12 spots for.

Patrick Chung would be an upgrade. I like his size/speed/smarts. If he can cover the TE and be a force in the run game, then, he will help the Cowboys.
The Cowboys need an enforcer, in the box, to play in the NFC East and win a championship.

Is Chung Asian? If so, would he be the only Asian in the league?

?? Not that it matter, but there are quite a few Asians in the NFL. Chung is Jamaican Chinese. Does that combo make him more rare?

I wouldn't scream in disgust if they drafted Chung in Rd 2, I just view him as not being a good man-to-man cover safety-- And is that what is most beneficial for this defense? Chung's top speed was good (around 4.50), but his "turn & run" wasn't anything special.

I think that Dallas would look at Williams first, but that's just a hunch. Thomas is an interesting prospect though, despite his size. I know that Dallas was very interested in Eddie Royal last year and Thomas is pretty comparable to Royal in terms of athleticism. Typically, I am pretty wary about guys who have fantastic work out numbers but have some other limitation (height in this case), but I would be fine with drafting Thomas.
As for Freeman, I just can't see us drafting a LB with our first pick unless it's someone who can rush the passer. Freeman has some really impressive workout figures, but some reports say that he doesn't play up to them.

Playing Strength and Explosion: Despite impressive weight room figures, Freeman does not always play up to his strength levels. He has the powerful punch to shock an opponent, but rather than facing up he relies more on his foot quickness to avoid. He has to become more consistent shooting his hands, as he has had problems shedding when a blocker gets into his frame. He is not really stout at the point of attack and can be driven off the ball by a strong lead blocker. He keeps his shoulders square when facing up in trench battles, but when he fails to keep his hands active, bigger blockers will soon engulf him. He lacks the sand in his pants to hold ground on running plays directed right at him and is better served playing on the move rather than waiting for the play to come to him. He is more of a finesse-type of tackler than a physical one and when he encounters a bigger blocker, he does not have the raw power to quickly shed when a lineman gets after him. He has good training room [View Full Quote]strength, but stacks high and needs to work his hands quicker in order to shed. When he faces up vs. the bigger blockers, he needs to play with better leverage and explosion. GRADE: 5.5

He's not someone who I would be thrilled about picking up, especially with our first pick.
Really, with all of the picks that we have, I think that we're most likely to trade up for Delmas or Robiskie. Dallas has missed out on the WR they wanted by just a few picks for a couple of years now. Sweed, Jennings and Bowe (I think?) were all players who we would have drafted if they had fallen to us. If Robiskie gets within 10 picks of us then I wouldn't be shocked if we traded up for him.
