The Giants have much bigger needs than DE. I thought it was a very odd pick.

I thought the Redskins made a good pick. Williams is a better fit for their scheme than Okung. They still need to get a young QB at some point.

I find it hilarious that the Cowboys picked Dez Bryant with the Eagles original first round pick.
I had Williams as my #5 tackle. I just don't see what others see in him.

Regardless, Okung was the better prospect on almost everyone's board. You don't take the lesser prospect because you think he fits the system better. That's a recipe for disaster. It's like giving up Larry Allen because you like your guards closer to 300 pounds.

Yes, yes you do. Maybe not in every scenario, but definitely in this one. Okung is a typical LT in that he has cement feet. Hes going to be a good LT no doubt, but in Shannah's system his O-lineman have to be athletic to pull and get to the next level in his zone running scheme. Okung is more of a guy that will be entrenched in a small area at LT to shut down the guys in front of. Not a bad thing at all but, Williams,on the other hand, is a lot more mobile and fits to scheme perfectly.

I didnt like the Eagles pick at all. They probably only had to move up to around 15-18 to get either Graham or Morgan. Instead they moved up to 13 and gave up an extra 3rd rounder. Secondly, having Graham and Trent Cole on the same line is really going to hurt their ability to stop the run. I can see a lot of teams running against the Eagles because of their undersized DE's and mediocre DT's. Plus the fact that they passed on Earl Thomas when they are in dire need of secondary help is pretty amazing to me. Now I just hope they draft Taylor Mays with their 2nd round so I can see Dez Bryant burn him for years to come.

Unwittingly overlooking the fact that they will be cutting those same players within 2-3 years because of cap constraints so that they can go out and trade more draft picks for more past-their-prime free agents...it's a vicious cycle.
Actually looking at some of their forum threads on the subject, they are split into two camps....

Half: They are delusional, and claim that Dez Bryant will be a bust and all the character concerns will be wreck the Cowboys.

The other Half: "Oh crap the Cowboys just got scarier", "Oh man we're in trouble"... ie. they are realists and realize how screwed they are.

I totally disagree with picking for the system, at least early in the draft and when there's a substantial difference in talent (which I think there is).

If you ran the Tampa 2 would you pass on Deion Sanders because he didn't fit the prototype or would you take the talent and find a way to make the potential work?

you know for the numerous picks and trades the Eagles have made, to come out of the draft through 3 rounds with Graham, Allen, and Nesheim, im so not impressed.
