Default LATimes: Dallas Cowboys' Tony Romo is ready for the next big thing

By Sam Farmer

For Tony Romo, the worst came first.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback began the 2010 season the way he does every season — by studying a blooper reel of his mistakes: fumbles, interceptions, sacks, botched plays.

The video footage was compiled by offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, who put it on the screen for all three of the team's quarterbacks, a standard exercise for NFL teams looking to work out the kinks in their offense.

Let's continue to hope Romo improves, he had a very good 2009 season!

We need more touchdowns this year from him. He can't be afraid to push the ball down the field like we did in 07.
In the final two months of 2011, Romo’s passer rating was 115.9.

I don't want to see turnover Tony that's all... I don't want to see the turnovers when the game is in the balance.

A combo of 07 tony and 09 tony would be a beautiful thing.

We need to score between 400-500 points this year preferably on the high end. I think we scored 362 points last year; that's off the top of my head. And we were middle of the road in points scored despite being second in yards gained. Not good.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

Im concerned, mostly because of his back.

I didnt know he had back spasms and had to have extensive treatment before the San Diego game.

After 2008, I really was hoping for a more mature Romo. In 2009 he really delivered. Jerry's " Romo friendly " moves helped and Tony was really poised most games last season. He finally decided that sometimes you have to take the sack and not force a throw that become a turnover.

This is code for 'I was wrong about Romo last season, but I can't come out and admit it.'

Romo's been a mature, talented QB from the moment he stepped onto the field. Yes, he's continued to develop his game, that that's no different from any other player at any other position in the league. The stuff about his dedication, maturity level, and focus was hot air from people that couldn't see what was right in front of them.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

Then the offensive line had better block better.
