I've been looking at him recently myself and the news from the Senior Bowl looks better each and every day (or worse, depending on how you look at it).

I think he'll be a late 2nd or early 3rd rounder.

People will be looking to get the next Ryan Kerrigan.

Just by watching the video he looks like a solid football player; maybe not a superstar but definitely can be a key piece to any defense! Maybe a 3rd round prospect?
Garrett to players: Make today a great day; go about the business of winning! If you can't keep up then don't step up.

Dude is getting some attention.

While the Boise State pass rusher might not be worried about his relative lack of publicity, another group attending the Senior Bowl this week certainly is -- NFL scouts.

"Don't write too much about the guy," one high-ranking scout said following practice Wednesday. "We've been on him all year long and don't want others jumping on him now."

Please.

Don't talk to me about the 'motor' of a guy who admitted himself he didn't consistantly give his all.

I wasn't talking to you at all, just stating that his motor isn't the problem when half of his sacks and pressures come from continued pursuit of the play. He admitted he didn't work hard enough in practice, and it translated to stupid mistakes in the games. Im sick of seeing him crucified over a strict self evaluation that he was giving himself, when no one else on the team has stepped up and admitted they didn't give a crap last year either and took plays and entire games off because our whole team was guilty of it.

And continued underperformance when it mattered most.

Credit to him for admitting it.

Shame on him for having to admit it.

He's a disappointment.

A player we've waited several years on, in the hopes that he would improve.

He hasn't.

I hope they do not resign him and overpay for average play. It's one thing to put up with it when you've already invested a first round draft pick. It's another to willingly do it again when you've seen the actual results for several years.

If we can get him for a reasonable contract, we have bigger holes to fill. If he asks too much, Ingram, Upshaw, or Curry are all available for us in the draft.

What do you think of Ahmad Brooks? I prefer signing him to re-signing Spencer myself.

I don't know man.. if we could get him for cheaper, then maybe. I think it'd be pretty close to a lateral move though. Don't see Brooks putting up significantly better numbers than Spencer, if he even put up the same. If we can't resign Spencer, i'd prefer to look to the draft at either Ingram, Upshaw, or Curry.

As for FA's, i want Campbell far and away more than any other DE/OLB available. If we can't get him, Avril or a draft pick would be my next choice.

I can tell from your reply that you have OLB higher on your 'wish list' than I do.

My investment wouldn't be as significant as yours.

If it wasn't high up on yours, you'd be fine with resigning an above average player like Spencer to a reasonable contract extension.

I think we'd have to define what 'reasonable' was.

As well as 'above average'.

I don't think of either when I think of resigning Spencer.

I'd just as soon use a combination of Victor Butler and the player whose thread we have now hijacked.

I look at Spencer's overall numbers the past 3 years, and i see an above average OLB. You talk about a guy like Ahmad Brooks.

Same age. Same size. Less production. What's the appeal there?

I do think DL is more important though.. which is why i'd like to sign Campbell so badly and draft a NT with one of our first 3 picks or sign Soliai.
